For Generations Following

We are the RE-Generation. We are the called out ones. We are the Church.

If you are a mom or dad, you have a special responsibility to make sure that your children become disciples of Jesus Christ. Just as God disciplines His sons and daughters, we ought to discipline ours. No discipline at the time seems pleasant but yields fruit of righteousness in those who have been trained by it. My grandfather has often told me of stories about how he had to whoop kids who weren't even His!! Lol. A parent knows discipline is important because noo child stays that way forever. How would it look if a grown man acted like a 10 year old? We should be growing, maturing and reproducing more disciples.

Within the word generation is the word generate. You may rely on a source to give you strength and energy to do what you have to do, but as you grow you also rely more and more on the Source (the Re-Generator) who is God Himself and less and less on others.

When babies are born they are completely dependent on their mothers to sustain them. As they grow they learn to feed and take care of themselves. When grown and mature, they reproduce. They regenerate. It then becomes their job to continue the regeneration.

Watch this video clip of myself and a friend as we discussed regeneration.

Jesus be a Plumber

We have a problem at our house. Our kitchen sink is clogged. So you know what that means. My dishes are backed up and there are too many to put in the dishwasher. I actually have to wash them by hand. What??!!

I know. Back in the day this was not a big deal. Get your hands dirty wash the dishes. But I'm spoiled. I don't want to get my hands dirty. I don't want to mess up my manicure. Even though I have a dishwasher I still don't want to wash the remaining dishes by hand. However, to ignore the clog or not handle the results of it would be a huge mistake!

Thank God that Jesus was not so particular. He came in the form of human and got down and dirty for us. He did what none of the rest of us could do. He was perfect and yet he got himself dirty in order to redeem us and bring us back to God. Sin clogs up our flow with God. It keeps us from being useful in the Kingdom. It brings movement to a halt and attracts our enemies - pests!

When the sin of our lives gets backed up, it will be revealed eventually. We wonder why our prayers are not answered. We wonder why we are not excited about reading the Bible anymore. We are stagnant. We are slow and ineffective. We need to repent!

Repentance is identifying what is causing the stopping of the flow of the Holy Spirit in our lives and unclogging the situation. Oftentimes, a plumber, one skilled in helping you see what you cannot, is helpful. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin, brings it to our attention and brings us to a place of remorse or Godly sorrow.

We must make the time to examine ourselves. It is also helpful to have someone who will hold you accountable It's great to have a mentor that you give permission to examine your life as well. For whatever reason, it is easier for someone else to see your flaws than for you to see your own.

none of us are hiding from deeply rooted issues in our lives. You cannot be completely healed until you are honest with yourself and God. Let's take the time during this Holy week to re-examine our lives "under the sink". Ask God to identify and uproot anything or any person that is hindering you from being a useful vessel for the service of the Lord!

Confirmation and Affirmation

When asked by others if you love Jesus do you say yes?

When asked if you desire to be used by Him do you say yes?

When asked IF He can use you, do you say yes?

Some people have difficulty with these questions. We often feel unprepared to do what God requires of us, but we shouldn't!

I Corinthians 1:4-9
We are equipped with Great Confirmation for the Great Commission. God gives us perfect affirmation through Christ who lives within us.

The power to obey is not something we work up. It's not a conjured spell or the power of positive thinking. It is God working in you to do of His good pleasure. Any good in us is His doing. The power to do good is His as well.

Matthew 3:17
With Jesus, God is well-pleased.

We all desire to please God, to make Him smile but often still see ourselves as unfit to be in leadership or to be called a disciple of Jesus. Why is that? Sometimes, it really is our pride, or a false humility. "I'm so sinful, I could never be used by a great God". The Bible tells us otherwise.

It's impossible to please God without His own holiness invading your life! Our righteousness is as filthy rags.

Ephesians 3:20
God's power works in us to make us "able to do..".

God enables you! He indwells to enable. That is the power of the Holy Spirit in the believer. God can boldly tell us to make disciples because everything we need is given to us already.

God says I AM
God says He WILL
God says He HAS
God says I CAN

Colossians 2:5-7

So, no more excuses. Let's be productive for the Kingdom of God!

To be Equally Yoked

We always talk about what it is to be unequally yoked, but what about Walking Together. Consider these things:

Spiritual gifts
As husband and wife, our spiritual gifts will naturally complement each other because they are both of the Spirit. Fruit on the same tree may look slightly different,  but we are attached to the same supply!

Business
Spouses are mutual benefactors from financial prosperity. We are one body and the support of your spouse in business translates to tons of growth (economically and for future generations). When you sow together, you reap together and twice as much!

Dreams & Aspirations
No one should be a bigger cheerleader of your dreams than your spouse! Do your part to support and encourage. You do not want to be the person who kills the dream.

Ministry
Like in business, sowing and reaping together has its benefits. We must always pray for one another that we will be directed by God as a couple. Your marriage has purpose and ministering together will always be effective!

Soul Tied (in the best way)
Sex! Have lots of it. If you are not single, make it your goal to keep your marriage spicy. Soul ties involve your whole being - mind, body & soul. Be unforgettable for your spouse and be ready to get back that favor in return!

Mentoring in Marriage: A Legacy of Love

As we step into the new year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on how our marriages can impact not only our own lives but also those around...
