Dating Games

"Opposites attract before marriage, opposites attack after marriage!" When people talk about interracial or inter-generational dating, they know that at least in some situations there is something wrong with it that they just can't put their finger on. A game that may not be fair for all that are involved. The following is a message I wrote to a friend that I met online (1998). Multiplayers! Let's begin!

Interracial dating and inter-generational dating is something I've studied into. I believe that in the great majority of cases it is unwise (which is sin Proverbs 8:35-36 NKJV):

FIRST, Why are there different RACES (for lack of a better word)? In the book of Genesis chapter 11, it speaks of how God confused the language and scattered mankind over the earth at the Tower of Babel. It's my belief that those isolated gene pools created the additional races of people on the earth. Even though this particular incident is only mentioned in one place in the Bible, there is no evidence that God's purpose for why He scattered mankind has changed. Therefore God purposely wanted different races of people to exist separately.

SECOND, It's amazing when you think about how much respect the Bible gives to the natural order of things as intended! For example 1 Corinthians 11:14 “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?” or Romans 1:20 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” Also God did not want Israel to intermingle various things like worship, culture, interfaith marriage, even garments (Lev. 19:19).

THIRD, like Christ, a person has to consider it's expedience (it’s necessity). Dating or marriage should be about compatibility, a person is naturally going to be more compatible with someone of their own race, also for example in the African American community women outnumber men more than any other racial group, is it necessary for a black man to date outside of his race, etc.

FOURTH, a person has to consider their motives £or dating that way, because there are multiple wrong motives like lust, novelty, infatuation, money, man's acceptance, wrong ideology possibly stemming from a belief in evolution, desperation, etc.

FIFTH, a person has to "count the cost", society has in the past looked down on it, and racial roots and heritage are naturally important to most people. Racial heritage is one of those things that either matters or doesn't matter, it can't be both.

Before you race to the end of this blog I just wanted to add something very important, if you are already in an interracial or inter generational marriage, God does NOT want you to divorce! Once we get married it is God's will for us to stay married. Any one of mixed race descent should by no means feel like God does not love them or have a wonderful plan for your life.

Some people today marry and date inter-racially thinking that they are promoting  unity by relations or by producing more mixed children. This sounds like the same wrong and unrepentant motive the people at the Tower of Babel had. “If you want to know the future look at the past.” Just like in other places in the world where two races of people coexisted, Israel, South America, etc. America will eventually become a nation where the great majority are mixed raced people.

It's your move!

I’LL TRY GOD LATER

The explanation “I’ll try God later” doesn't match up at all against the truth of the gospel. The following was adapted from “A SIMPLE EXPLANATION OF THE GOSPEL/ The Four Spiritual Laws”.
Please use your bible.

Just as there are physical laws that govern the physical universe, so are there spiritual laws that govern your relationship with God.

GOD LOVES YOU AND OFFERS A WONDERFUL PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE.  John 3:16; 10:10

Since God loves you and offers a wonderful plan for your life, why is it that most people are not experiencing God’s love and the abundant life?  Because…

MAN IS SINFUL AND SEPARATED FROM GOD. THEREFORE, HE CANNOT KNOW AND EXPERIENCE GOD’S LOVE AND PLAN FOR HIS LIFE.  Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:2

Man was created to have fellowship with God.  But because of his own stubborn self-will,
man chose to go his own independent way and fellowship with God was broken. This self-
will, characterized by an attitude of active rebellion or passive indifference, is evidence of
what the bible calls sin.
God is holy and man is sinful. A great gulf separates the two. Man is continually trying to

reach God and the abundant life through his own efforts such as a "good life", “good works” or

religious ceremonies. This does not work because “all our righteous acts are like filthy rags”.
Isaiah 64:4 “The wages of sin is death”.  Romans 6:23

Additional comments: Let me point out why the “I’ll try God later” explanation doesn’t work.
Since God has a universal plan and purpose for  mankind which needs our participation; if we
reject or neglect God , we remain enemies of God . John 8:42,44; Romans 8:7
God’s offer for  us to partake in His plan, may never come later. In John 6:44 Jesus say’s “No
one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him”. It is strictly God’s decision.
Once God has made an offer, it’s not something we can put on the shelf for later. Because as
Jesus said; “Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their
(hard) hearts.” Mark 4:15  (Mark 4:2-8, 13-20)
We only waste our time (“Ain’t no half-steppin’”). As stated before “all our righteous acts
are like filthy rags”, because “they that are in the flesh (unsaved) cannot please God.” Roman 8:8
We must “count the cost” and be very sober about this offer, because ultimate failure to do so
will result in eternal punishment. Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:11-15

JESUS CHRIST IS GOD’S ONLY PROVISION FOR MAN’S SIN. THROUGH HIM YOU CAN KNOW AND EXPERIENCE GOD’S LOVE AND PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE.  John 14:6; Acts 4:10-12

God has bridged the gulf that separates us from Him by sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the
cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins. Colossians 1:20; 2:14.
He rose from the dead. 1 Corinthians 15:3-6 (This is an important element of your
understanding because the resurrection is the proof that Jesus Christ’s claims about sin and
salvation are true.)

WE MUST INDIVIDUALLY RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST AS SAVIOR AND LORD, THEN WE CAN KNOW AND EXPERIENCE GOD’S LOVE AND PLAN FOR OUR LIVES.  John 1:12; Romans 10:9-10

Receiving Christ involves repentance, turning to God from self, AND faith, trusting Christ to
come into our lives to forgive our sins and make us what He wants us to be.
We come to know and receive Christ through a personal invitation from God.  Revelation
3:20; John 6:45-47
When we receive Christ, we experience a new birth.  John 3:1-8; 1 Peter 1:23

WHERE TO FROM HERE? YOU CAN RECEIVE JESUS CHRIST BY FAITH THROUGH PRAYER.
“Come as you are”

There is no magical formula as regards to the words you are to use. However, when spoken
from the heart, the “ideas” expressed in the following prayer illustrate the main thoughts
which we should share with God.
My Father and my Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me
eternal life. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the person You want me to be.
If the ideas in this prayer are expressed from the heart, Jesus Christ will come into your life, as
He promised.  Revelation 3:20
