Studying Daniel - A Prophetic Feast

The Lord revealed the Book of Daniel to me as a Prophetic Feast. It starts with a tea and ends with dessert! Join me as we unfold the mysteries of the gospel of Jesus Christ from the Old Testament Torah to the New Testament Church.

This study was developed during four women's teaching sessions at Good Shepherd Baptist Church from 2024 to 2025. About fifty women gathered on a semi-monthly basis to eat the Word together. The fruit is what you are now reading. Enjoy!

Part ONE

Gods Word is a whole feast, let's have some tea first!
I LOVE tea!
Did you know that prophecy is like tea?

What is Prophecy?
Tea bag - prophecy happens _____ ______. A vessel designed for tea.
Tea in a cup is not Tea until it is _______, then it grows in ______, fills the space over time, then you drink it & it becomes a part of you. You hold on to some but you lose. Diuretic effects, lol.
Tea will come out. How interesting...

For the Prophet, It's like moving in traffic.
You switch lanes but catch up quickly & pass others. You are n the right place even though you are _____ in the "right lane". They saw further faster.

The Word
- testimony of Jesus is the ______ of prophecy Revelation 19:10
- the Word is _______ (past, present & future)
- you ____ it & it becomes you (communion)
- Jesus is the bread of _____
- He comes in the volume of the _____. God prepared Him a body (Heb. 10:5-7)

Literally self-fulfilling prophecy - He came to fulfill the WORD since creation!
I in You and you in me = God's ______ dwelling with-in (John 1).

Prophets were almost worshipped due to _______, then very persecuted.
1. Lay on side for days
2. Eat weird things
3. Wear certain clothes.

They were very different, very prophetic, very mindful, not so cutesy or demure though. They saw more, but did not have the most envied lifestyle. They were almost scary, _________ & visionaries. They had foresight and foretold events.

Some prophecy is Apocalyptic in style (futuristic) like _______. It Aligns with Matthew 24, 2 Thessalonians & the book of Revelation.

Eschatological Views:
1. Preterists (all millilialists) Jesus _______ come
2. Partial preterists (post tribulation)
3. Futurists (pretribulation)

The name Daniel means "God is my ______"
Written 535-530 BC

Daniel influenced ___ Kingdoms for about ___ years:
Babylon - language confusion
Media - media and artistic influence
Persia - money offerings to appease their gods
I think God has reason for that much like today!

Read it to kids. Dont shy from big topics, the world doesn't! Kids are smart! My boys loved hearing it read to them. (Lions & Rams & Goats, o my!)

But here is the warning about Prophecy:

Tea bag vs Coffee in tea cup
Similar subtle differences in color, consistency, texture but not smell or taste.
1. Leaf versus Bean
2. Quality vs Durability
3. Drink less quantity vs drink over ____

No offense to Coffee drinkers who came to a tea party but.....

Taste & See.
Prophecy is a type of _______! Don't just see, but Taste. What fruit is this? What is the root of this? Where does it come from?

Enemy brings a counterfeit = ______ prophets counter God's Word, deceive and manipulate the truth.
Counterfeit money appears almost ____ but on closer inspection with a magnifying glass we can see the nuances.

Magnify the Lord with me.

What do we do with Prophecy?
1.Read it. There is a blessing in the reading of __________.
2.Pray to see more and ______ deception.
3.Know the _____, it sets you free.

4.Don't be _____, be aware. (Beware)
5.Speak the Word. Speak about _____. Share this TEA! Spill THIS tea! Not the gossip and lies, but Jesus - the way, the TRUTH and the life! The ultimate t!!

My husband reminded me of the person who prophetically penned the words "I'm a little teapot..."

Walking with Jesus is fun! Come to our "T" party! Jesus invites you.

Some scholars say it was Antiochus Epiphanes
whole some illude to the return of Jesus Christ.

Gabriel showed up to Daniel before Jesus came.

Gabriel showed up to Mary before Jesus came in the flesh.
Let it change how we celebrate Christmas and let our theme for 2924 "Looking Forward " carry us to this new year coming.

God has a prophetic reputation to uphold (YOUR CITY, YOUR PEOPLE, YOUR HOLY HILL) and He is STILL in _________!!

Daniel's Prayer and 70 Week Vision Poem

Seek the Lord with all your heart,
When sin abounds, repentance start.
Daniel’s prayer for mercy teaches,
God hears the one humility reaches.
God’s Word must guide our way,
In Scripture’s truth, we’ll never stray.
Daniel sought in books to find,
The promises of God’s design.
Confess your sins and make them known,
Before His throne, we’re not alone.
Daniel confessed for all his kin,
A heart contrite brings cleansing within.
God is faithful, just, and true,
His mercy flows to me and you.
Though judgment comes, His grace prevails,
When we turn back, His love never fails.
God’s timing is perfect, His plans are sure,
In waiting, trust, and faith endure.
Daniel knew seventy weeks must be,
A prophecy fulfilled for eternity.
Pray with fervor, fast with zeal,
Let heaven know the love you feel.
Daniel’s prayer shook realms above,
Persistent faith reveals God’s love.
God’s kingdom is coming; lift your eyes,
Deliverance nears, our hope’s sunrise.
The Anointed One will reign and save,
A promise sealed beyond the grave.

PART FOUR - The Dessert
Daniel Chapters 10-12

Term: Grammatico-Historical Exegesis
As the term “grammatico-historical” suggests, we must focus on two elements to discover the original meaning. First, we must look at the _________ of a prophecy, and we
do this by focusing on the literary context. And second, we must concern ourselves with
the _________ context of the original writer and the original audience.

Chapter 10
The Fasting Angelic Vision - This vision occurs during the reign of Cyrus the Great (around 536 BC), a time when the Jews were returning from exile to rebuild Jerusalem.
- Daniel fasted for ___ days, or for ____ full weeks. Notice these weeks versus the 70 weeks of Daniel chapter nine. Context matters!
- There are battles in the spiritual realm that we do not see. This angel was fighting a "Persian Kingdom" for exactly ___ days.
- The angel came to show him the ______. Daniel 10:21

Chapter 11
Kings of the North and South
- Two major powers will conflict. The Seleucid Empire in the North which was _____, and the Ptolemaic Empire in teh South which was ________.
- The empire of Alexander the Great was divided and the Jews were oppressed under Antiochus the Fourth from ____ to ___ BC.

- There will be abominations and seeking to break ____________.
This chapter contains a detailed prophecy about the conflicts between two major powers: the Seleucid Empire (North, Syria) and the Ptolemaic Empire (South, Egypt). It predicts:The rise and fall of Persian and Greek empires. The reign of Alexander the Great and the division of his empire.Conflicts between the Seleucid and Ptolemaic rulers, including Antiochus IV Epiphanes, who persecuted the Jews and desecrated the Temple (167 BC).Historical Context:
The prophecy is remarkably accurate in describing events from the 4th to 2nd centuries BC, including the oppression of the Jews under Antiochus IV. This foreshadowed later events in Jewish history, including the Maccabean Revolt.

- The Northern King will speak against ____, but at his demise no one will _____ him.

Chapter 12
The End Times, or the Great _______________
- Daniel foresees that the ______ will rise to eternal life and others to death.
- The angel tells Daniel to ____ the prophecy until the proper time to come in the future.
- There is a ________ in our waiting to see what the end will be.

Many scholars see this chapter as both a reference to Antiochus IV’s persecution and a prophecy about the end times, including the rise of the Antichrist.Christians often interpret this as pointing to the second coming of Christ and the final judgment. The angel instructs Daniel that the prophecy will be understood more fully in the last days.

We will all understand  as God unravels.
